Rachel the Rabbit is one of the main characters in the Doug's 'N' Rachel's cast and the main antagonist of Those Nights at Rachel's.

Appearance[]

She is a light grey rabbit animatronic with long articulated bunny ears and a large smooth head that lacks eyebrows in any form, with round magenta eyes with long eyelashes sticking from her eye sockets. Rachel's suit also features a big purple bowtie, which is somewhat squashed by her jaw when she opens her mouth. She has a skinny, tall torso, a triangular face, three-toed paws, and thicker versions of the generic arms and legs. She has two white buck teeth and lines of teeth on the bottom and top of her mouth. Rachel also has a lighter grey on her muzzle, inside her ears, on her stomach and under her feet. Like the rest of the cast, she has visible endo parts through her segmented body parts.

During gameplay, once she leaves the stage her eyes turn black with white pupils, and in Hard Mode, like the rest of the characters, her pupils goes from white to red, and her entire body is covered in a grunge texture.

Behavior[]

She will always start in the Stage, and like the others, she can be the first up to the last character to move from their initial position. She can randomly move to the Arcade Room 1, Dining Area, or the South Hall, while never returning to the stage, sometimes laughing as she moves, similar to Doug.

The player must often check the left doorway with the flashlight and, if she is there, close the doorway or hide under the desk until metallic footsteps are heard faintly, indicating that she has left, although these are not always heard. Otherwise, Rachel will enter the office and jumpscare the player, ending the night.

However, on the Third Night and onwards, Rachel will not be able to reach the office's doorway at all similarly to the others, in exception that she also cannot teleport in there in certain occasions like the others, making her a completely docile character. Despite being the titular character, Rachel is fairly inactive, as she rarely visits the office, approaching the player once a night at most. On Hard Mode, however, she is about as active as Bane, approaching several times a night early on. She is also much harder to find and distinguish, as she is almost always silhouetted.

Trivia[]

  • Sometimes, a shadow version of Rachel will appear in the office when turning to the backroom.
    • This was a clear inspiration from Shadow Bonnie from the original Five Nights at Freddy's 2, and likely had no real purpose.
  • Due to a mistake while making the game, if the player gets jumpscared by Rachel while not looking at the back or the right, Bane's jumpscare model will instead rise from the floor and "jumpscare" the player while not moving at all and clipping through several objects like the cameras monitor.
    • Rachel's model that is intended to be used for these jumpscares also remains unmoving in these moments.
    • At the time, Nikson was aware of this issue, but was unaware of what was causing the issue, or likely who even these jumpscares belonged to.
    • In the game files, weirdly, the Bane model that the game summons is under Rachel's name.
  • Due to her randomized and slow movement, it is very likely to never encounter her in the office through the nights or even get caught by her.
  • If looked carefully on the Main Menu screen, Rachel seems to have multiple pupils through her eyes. This is due to a bad texturing placement. Strangely, this does not seem to be an issue in the full game, as this can also be seen in the gameplay trailer of the game.
  • The 3D model used for Rachel in the Main menu screen is a completely different model from the one used in game named "test2", this one having a higher amounts of polygons, a complete different posing armature, and a broken rigging, which can be seen around her "spiky" shoulder pads.
    • This would make Rachel the only character to feature more than one model of her in the game, alongside the one with the most varations, begin Shadow Rachel, test2, and her normal and black eyes variations.
    • This version of Rachel also has a unique animation for her eyes briefly twitching.
      • Both of these cases doesn't apply for Doug, as he uses the normal in-game model, and has no animations.
  • Rachel, Doug, and Pete are the only characters to be featured in a poster.
  • Strangely, one of Rachel's laugh has a computer beep at the start of it.
  • Rachel and The Thing, similarly with Doug, Ray and Bane, are the only ones to share the same jumpscares sounds.
  • Like the others, the metallic steps that Rachel and the others do are, in exception of one, edited renditions from the metallic steps from Five Nights at Freddy's 2.
  • The game's creator and a few other staff members have confirmed that Rachel and the rest of the cast are aroace, or in other words, unable to feel any sort of attraction to anyone else.
    • However this is satire, and was only a joke for trolling.
    • Similarly, Nikson also said that all the Doug 'N' Rachel's cast are "brothers and sisters" when approached about a fanfic ship from a fan.
  • At some point, Nikson requested a fan on DeviantArt to make variations of Rachel as a Toy and Withered animatronic.
  • Rachel's laughs have also appeared in other Nikson's games, an example begin The Joy Of Creation Story Mode, begin commonly attached to Ignited Golden Freddy.

Rachel the Rabbit was going to return as the main antagonist of Those Nights at Rachel's 2 prior to its cancellation.

Appearance[]

Her base design is slightly different from the one seen in the first game. She has a less triangular face, rounder knees and shoulders, bigger paws, and multiple holes through her body, with a big hole in her stomach. Wires are hanging from her right knee, the top of her left "eyebrow" and underneath her right eye. She is completely missing her lower left arm and her left paw suit, with her right ear begin entirely absent. Similar to the first game, during gameplay (or in this case the Teasers), her eyes are completely black with glowy magneta pupils.

Trivia[]

  • She's the only one in the second game to be missing limbs.
  • Her character model in RELOADED, similar to most of the models in the series, has a few unused armature bones for posing, including bones for her missing lower arm and hand.
  • While not confirmed, it is likely that her 3D model is the only one from Those Nights at Rachel's 2 cast that is not lost media.
  • In the credits of RELOADED, she's simply named as "Moderately Scratched Reach", with "Reach" begin Rachel's new name in this game.
    • It is not know if this is a serious joke, or she originally was intended to be nicknamed as a "scratched" animatronic.
  • After beating RELOADED, her head will appear inside of the vending machine in the room, likely as a trophy.
